Indigenous Peoples at Risk of Land Loss Demand
Forum Syd's partner organisation Committee for Free and Fair Elections in Cambodia (COMFREL) aims to create an informed and favorable climate for free and fair elections and for meaningfulness of post elections in Cambodia. Through its work, Comfrel encourages citizens to participate in politics and decision-making and to be active citizens. Partner Meeting in Sihanoukville
Two times per year, Forum Syd organises a meeting with all its partner organisations in Cambodia. The first meeting in 2010 is held 16 - 17 June and the programme team departures to Sihanoukville together with representatives from all partner organisations. Participants from the three new partners, KYSD, KADRA and My Village will also join the meeting as observers. The aim is to share experiences among each other and to improve networking and coordination. This meeting will focus on questions related to financial management and capacity building, but it will aslo bring up discussions concerning the new anti-corruption law.
Forum Syd - working for Democracy and Human Rights
Forum Syd is a Swedish Non-Governmental Organisation, which works with development cooperation on an International level. Forum Syd works with issues related to human rights and democratisation. The aim is to support and encourage organisations in the civil society to be strong and influential actors in development processes.
Forum Syd's Democracy and Human Rights Programme in Cambodia has 10 partner organisations. Forum Syd supports its partners with both funding and capacity building. All partner organisations are local NGOs, which work for democratic decision-making processes, human rights and access to natural resources in a sustainable manner.
Forum Syd's partners work on different levels to promote change and reform in the Cambodian society and the programme increases cooperation and networking among local, provincial and national partners.
